Bonus Sessions Add Even More Value to the PowerTest 2016 Experience
Portage, Michigan (PRWEB) December 14, 2015 -- PowerTest 2016 attendees looking to maximize the learning experience will take advantage of bonus sessions on Sunday and Friday — two additional days to expand industry knowledge and understanding of best practices while building a network of leading colleagues in the electrical power systems field.
PowerTest 2016 — sponsored by NETA – InterNational Electrical Testing Association and scheduled for March 14-18, 2016, at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel in Fort Worth, Texas — represents the largest gathering of electrical power systems professionals in the industry. In fact, NETA’s PowerTest event is the only conference and trade show targeted directly at the electrical testing industry. Attendees include contractors, engineers, field service technicians, electrical inspectors, and consultants from manufacturing plants, testing companies, industrial plants, petrochemical plants, utilities, wind energy companies, and government agencies.
Kicking off this premier event on Sunday, March 13, 2016, are several can’t-miss activities. Attendees can warm up for the week with:
- Megger Best Practices Seminar — Sunday, 12:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. Megger’s seminar addresses many of the critical and costly aspects of substation maintenance. This interactive session features practical presentations on the latest methods to ensure the reliability of high-voltage circuit breakers, power transformers, and batteries.
Note: Preregister for this event by contacting Megger at (214) 330-3514.
- NETA Member and Alliance Meeting — Sunday, 2:15 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. NETA Alliance Partners are invited to NETA’s Annual Member and Alliance Meeting, a prime event to make new contacts across the broad spectrum of expertise represented at PowerTest 2016. Attendees include representatives from NETA Accredited Companies, equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers. Hear the latest updates on NETA programs as well as industry codes and standards. The afternoon culminates with a lively roundtable discussion on current technical industry topics led by NETA’s Corporate Alliance Partners.

- Stockyards Station Shindig — Sunday, 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Swagger into the Stockyards Station to experience the storied history of Fort Worth and the best in Southwest BBQ. This event is PowerTest 2016 attendees’ introduction to traditional Texas hospitality and offers a chance to solidify industry connections made throughout the day.
Following Sunday’s kick-off events, PowerTest 2016 attendees have numerous opportunities over the next several days to cultivate knowledge, solidify business relationships, develop cutting-edge skills, exchange ideas, and influence the future of the electrical power systems industry.
The wrap-up to a successful PowerTest experience on Friday, March 18, 2016, will include:
- Doble Laboratory Seminar — Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Doble Laboratory Seminar is designed for engineers, chemists, and others responsible for reviewing data to interpret laboratory results related to detecting and identifying problems within electric apparatus. This interactive seminar combines theoretical background with hands-on examples, including case studies that illustrate common problems found in the field, such as aging of insulating materials, oil sample pitfalls, apparatus problems, paper insulation, incipient fault conditions, particle contaminations, and much more.
