Book Offers New Evidence on Case of Alcatraz Escapees
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. Three men escaped from Alcatraz on June 11, 1962. Freddie Pinder’s mom died in May of 1962. He was a child at the time. He went to live with his great aunt in June 1962. About a month later, three mysterious men came by boat and lived in the bush behind his great aunt’s farm. They came daily to where Freddie lived for water and food.
In “Alcatraz Escapees in the Bahamas,” readers will learn about the daily lives of these men who look just like the mug shots of the three escapees, “of which we have affidavits.” Readers will discover the story of how a young Bahamian boy went fishing with Alcatraz escapee, alleged Clarence Anglin, on this island.
