BoomTax Introduces Complimentary Affordable Care Act E-Filing for Small Businesses
Corpus Christi, TX (PRWEB) September 23, 2016 -- In an industry first, tax software innovator BoomTax is releasing a free Affordable Care Act (ACA) e-file service for small businesses nationwide today. This means that employers with 50 to 75 full time (or full time equivalent) employees will finally be able to file their Affordable Care Act information returns electronically with the IRS for free.
Starting in 2016, businesses with more than 50 full time (or full-time equivalent) employees were required to file new tax forms detailing which employees were offered quality, affordable health care. Many employers discovered that the new ACA regulations were challenging to implement and the new reporting requirement deadlines were equally difficult to meet.

The IRS released a new system for ACA filing called AIR (Affordable Care Act Information Returns) to accept these new types of tax returns, and many employers experienced issues getting approved to use the system by the filing deadline. To qualify for e-filing, employers must provide personal tax information to help pass the application process, then submit filing tests that require having a developer on staff, then they must also learn the complex corrections process.
The newly announced free e-filing plan will allow employers to avoid the complexity behind e-filing and will allow this process to be handled by BoomTax.
With the newly announced Basic Plan, employers will be able to:
• Bulk import employee (1095-C) data using an Excel spreadsheet.
• Utilize “hands off” e-filing. No TCC, manifest, or XML development required.
• E-file with real-time email notifications as the IRS processes their filing.
• Make unlimited corrections to employee information and forms.
BoomTax also provides a Print and Mail Service where they will print copies of 1095-C employee copies, fold, stuff, affix postage, and mail to employees for a nominal fee.
