Bop Design Discusses ‘State of RSS’ for 2014
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) December 17, 2013 -- Today, San Diego marketing firm Bop Design shared insights to the future of RSS feeds and its importance to a B2B content marketing strategy. In light of the Google Reader shutdown, Bop Design surveyed reflected on the dominance of RSS in individual’s media consumption and how B2B firms can elevate their own content.
“As the source for millions of users to subscribe and follow publications of interest, taking away Google Readers was like saying your morning paper delivery would cease to exist,” says Jeremy Durant, business principal of Bop Design.
Bop Design shared an NPR interview with Digg Reader CEO Andrew McLaughlin, concerning the future of RSS subscriptions and fear that individuals will be caught in a self-created news “bubble.” McLaughlin reassured readers, saying traditional social outlets such as Facebook and Twitter has algorithms that introduce new point of views to a user.
“In the world of content marketing, that means it’s not just about getting a blog post live. It’s about how shareable you can make it,” says Durant. “Repurposing content for the social media channels your audience is using is critical for the success of a blog post.”
Durant continues that finding the best avenue to share blog content all depends on the target audience of the company. Broadcasting on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook or other platforms requires consistent lead nurturing and accurate measurement.
“If you’re a B2B services firm with a company blog, chances are you’re not measuring success based on number of RSS subscriptions.”
To assist 2014 content planning, Bop Design is hosting tomorrow a webinar titled “How to Utilize LinkedIn for Lead Generation,” addressing how B2B companies can utilize LinkedIn to uncover new sales opportunities.
