Boston Cannons’ Leading Goal Scorer Davey Emala Signs with STX
Baltimore, MD (PRWEB) July 14, 2015 -- Baltimore-based STX, LLC, a global sporting goods leader, announced the addition of attackman Davey Emala of Major League Lacrosse’s (MLL) Boston Cannons to its all-star lineup of athletes.
Emala will be a premier brand ambassador on the field while competing with STX equipment during MLL games. The Cannons attacker will also appear in STX’s marketing and advertising campaigns and represent the company at camps, clinics, tournaments and in-store events.
“I am extremely excited and humbled for the opportunity to join the STX family. I have used STX for my entire life and believe that it sets the standard for lacrosse equipment,” said Emala. “I share STX’s passion for excellence and growing the game. I am looking forward to representing the brand both on and off the field.”
Emala is having an outstanding season in only his second year in the MLL. He was twice named the Coca-Cola Player of the Game this season, most recently after scoring six goals against the Denver Outlaws in front of an MLL record-setting crowd. The attackman, selected by the Cannons’ as the 12th overall pick in the 2015 supplemental draft, is currently leading the team in goals.
Prior to joining the MLL, Emala was the University of North Carolina’s fifth leading scorer in 2013. During his senior year, Emala was named All-ACC Tournament Team and received the Tar Heels’ Needham Unsung Hero award.
“We’re excited to add Davey to our lineup of top MLL players. Davey is not only extremely talented on the field, his positive attitude and overall strength of character align well with STX’s culture,” said Nate Cundy, Assistant Marketing Manager for Men’s Lacrosse. “We look forward to seeing Davey’s immediate impact with the Cannons this year and on the success of our brand as a whole.”
