Boston Children’s Museum Appoints Anna Housley Juster
Boston, MA (PRWEB) November 18, 2014 -- Boston Children’s Museum is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Anna Housley Juster as its Senior Director, Child Development & Community Engagement. Housley Juster is a child development and research consultant with eighteen years of experience across formal and informal education contexts.
“Anna is an innovative expert in child development and is dedicated to the power of play in learning,” said Carole Charnow, President & CEO. “She brings with her many years of program and exhibit development that will enhance everything we do, making our visitor’s experience richer and more fun."
She will lead a newly-formed team representing the stages of child development from early childhood to school-aged to youth, in furthering Boston Children Museum’s hundred year track record of outstanding service to Boston’s neighborhoods and community nonprofits. This team, composed of Museum professionals who together have designed and implemented decades of compelling programming for all ages within the Museum and in partnership with community leaders, will serve as advocates for children of all ages, as well as their grownups, in new exhibit development, new program offerings, and initiatives for children from around Boston and the world and from all cultures, races, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Housley Juster spent several years as the Director of Content at Sesame Workshop developing curriculum for the Sesame Street series, interactive media, publishing, and outreach and has most recently been working as co-founder of Pop-Up Adventure Play, a non-profit dedicated to supporting opportunities for child-directed play in communities of supportive adults. Her other work includes - STEM curriculum development for Boston Public Schools, serving as a child development advisor and curriculum consultant for Hasbro Inc. and teaching in a Head Start classroom in RI.
She received her Ph.D. from New York University, Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, & Human Development in Teaching & Learning: Early Childhood Education; M.A. from Columbia University, Teachers College in Developmental Psychology; and B.A. from Tufts University in Child Development & English with pre-K – 3rd grade teaching certification.
Housley Juster joined Boston Children’s Museum full-time on October 27.

Hours and Admission
The Museum is open daily from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. and Fridays until 9:00 p.m. Adults, $14, children (1-15) and senior citizens, $14; children under 12 months and Museum members are always free. Fridays 5:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m., all visitors $1.
