Brackets For Good Teams Up With Area University to Help Local Nonprofits
INDIANAPOLIS (PRWEB) December 09, 2015 -- Since 2012, Brackets For Good has provided tools to participating nonprofits to help them spread the word about their participation in the tournament. The organization is pleased to announce further benefits for participants through the assistance of IUPUI School of Public and Environmental Affairs with the 2016 tournament.
According to Director of Academic Affairs Suzann Lupton, SPEA will provide expertise in the area of program and organizational evaluation.
“Program evaluation tools can help nonprofits learn to work more efficiently, but many organizations struggle to identify the right evaluation strategy or to carry out the process due to limits on their staff and time,” Lupton said.
Since Brackets For Good’s kickoff contest, it has raised more than $1.3 million for local charities. Due to overwhelming success, the tournament expanded from Indianapolis to Louisville in 2015 and will break into several other markets in 2016, including Ann Arbor, St. Louis, and Minneapolis.
“Now that so many cities are embracing their local nonprofits through the tournament, we want to see our hometown of Indianapolis come out on top as a leader in supporting local nonprofits,” Brackets For Good co-founder Matt McIntyre said.
With help from SPEA faculty members, the only sport for nonprofits will have an even deeper impact on the philanthropy sector.
“Brackets For Good is an exciting way to engage individuals with nonprofit organizations in their community,” Lupton said. “SPEA is delighted to provide technical expertise to assist Brackets For Good in its efforts to serve the groups that participate in its program.”
Indianapolis area nonprofits wanting to participate should register at http://indianapolis.bfg.org/ before Dec. 31, 2015.
