Brainly Brings Homework Help to iOS and Android
Austin, TX (PRWEB) March 10, 2015 -- Today, Brainly announced an increased focus on mobile for its peer-to-peer homework help platform by overhauling its mobile apps to create a more seamless user experience. The new native app for the world’s largest social learning network with more than 13.5 million registered users, is immediately available on iOS and Android devices globally. Brainly CEO Michał Borkowski will be in Austin, TX to make the announcement this week at SXSWedu, where he will be a participating in the panel Instant Global Reach and Global Scale in Education.
To date, there have been more than 4 million downloads of the Brainly app worldwide helping to expand the reach of the organically grown educational community. After downloading the app, students can create an account or log in to their existing account for a unified experience across web and mobile. With the new integrated live search function, students can enhance their learning by reviewing similar questions and problems to ones they are working on in the classroom. The app covers all common subject areas, including Language Arts, Math, Science, History, and more. Once on the app, students can leverage their subject areas of strength to help other students with homework and seek help in subject areas where they may benefit from assistance. Brainly is unique in that students can ask for help on their exact homework question, allowing them to get help right when they need it.
“With more than 40 million visitors to Brainly each month, one thing we know for sure is that every student has a subject they excel at,” said Michał Borkowski, CEO of Brainly. “Connecting students together to help each other solve problems is the foundation of our company. The social learning connections made through Brainly move learning to a no-judgement environment, and now with our mobile app, students can take advantage of the site anywhere, anytime.”
To use Brainly, registered users post homework questions and problems to the site, and in return, other users post help on how to solve the questions. By helping other students answer questions, users earn points, which then allows them to ask their own questions, creating a natural cycle of help and engagement. A global volunteer team of teachers, students and education experts serve as moderators on the platform to screen questions and check answer quality on an ongoing basis. Last fall, Brainly raised $9M in its series A, led by General Catalyst. Today, Brainly is available in more than 35 countries.
Michal’s SXSWedu panel is on Wednesday, March 11 at 10:30AM CT at the Hilton Austin Downtown. For more information on Michał’s panel visit, sxswedu.com.
