BrainXcape Escape Rooms Win 2017 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence

The achievement highlights companies that provide a superior customer experience, based on TripAdvisor reviews of escape games enthusiasts. Each year, TripAdvisor analyzes the quantity, quality, and recency of reviews submitted by its users over the past 12 months. Companies that can maintain an overall rating of at least four out of five are eligible to receive a Certificate of Excellence.
BrainXcape’s two puzzle rooms -- 'The Haunted Hotel' and 'Prison Break' -- were recognized for the high quality of their decor and gameplay. Both escape rooms have exceptional art and design curated by professional set designers that also worked on the hit off-Broadway show, 'Sleep No More' and are known for their dedication to details and expertise in engaging their audiences in immersive and at times creepy environments.
“After trying many escape rooms in New York, we were for the most part disappointed with the quality of the rooms and decor -- the majority we went to really felt underwhelming, looking more like low-end apartment rooms with only a few worn-out props, desks, book shelves, clocks and that was pretty much it” says co-owner William James. “We really felt that there was a place for something more upscale, something much more immersive, which is why we decided to launch two higher-end rooms.”
Reviewers have praised BrainXcape‘s escape rooms as “a must for puzzle enthusiasts”, having “incredible attention to details,” providing an “eerie atmosphere,” and “challenging fun.” Guests also cite the “painstakingly realistic,” “totally submersive experience” and “the awesome staff” being among the reasons for their high ratings.
“When people arrive, we want them engaged from the very moment they pass through the door, until they leave the room,” says William. “There is no interaction with the staff until the game actually starts, which adds to the experience. Once the door shuts and the game starts, we want the participants to be transported into a different world, full of mysteries and challenges."
