Mango Hardwood is considered eco-friendly due to the fact that the trees are only harvested for use in furniture when they have reached the end of the use of their useful, fruit-bearing life. By doing this the crafts-people in Thailand are helping to reduce the deforestation of other, more endangered species of wood.

From a buyer's point of view this timber looks beautiful - the presence of Spalting gives it an eye-catching, kaleidoscope of colours from the golden-brown heartwood that contrasts with the lighter, yellow coloured outer wood with occasional splashes of red in some pieces as well.
