Braun Ambulances on Display at FDIC 2014
Van Wert, OH (PRWEB) March 27, 2014 -- Braun Industries is getting ready to participate in FDIC 2014 – the world’s largest fire training-based conference and exhibition. The Fire Department Instructors' Conference will be held in Indianapolis, Indiana April 7th through 12th. Representatives from Braun Industries and their dealerships from around the country will be attending the show. The main Braun booth will be located in the Indiana Convention Center in space # 3357. In addition, the custom ambulance manufacturer will have models on display in the GM booth (# 3246) and the Freightliner booth (# 4521).
On display in Braun’s booth # 3357, visitors will have the opportunity to tour two ambulances. First, is a customer unit on loan from Frisco Fire Department. The Type I Super Chief ambulance is a 170” module mounted on an International 4300LP chassis. Interior features include a custom curbside bench with storage for a LUCAS Chest Compression System, forward-facing EVS seating, a Mermaid Medi-Kool saline cooler and drug cooler, and a Knox MedVault narcotics locker. The exterior includes M Series directional lightheads from Whelen. The ambulance is part of an extensive fleet for Frisco Fire Department in Frisco, Texas, and one of 2 Super Chief ambulances recently delivered to the department.
Also on display in booth # 3357 will be a Chief XL demo ambulance from Braun Industries. The 169” module includes custom storage locations for a stair chair and backboard, aluminum cabinetry, and a Whelen lighting package. The box is kept comfortable for patients, and at an optimal temperature for drugs and supplies, with a Hoseline FT 454 Heat/AC System. Most importantly, the unit includes the new EZ 02 Lift oxygen tank storage and lift system from Braun. This is a new safety innovation that Braun will debut at the show; it is being introduced to the Fire & EMS industry in advance of the forthcoming NFPA 1917 standards.
In the GM booth (# 3246), Braun Industries will have a 2014 Chief XL Type III ambulance on display. Mounted on a 2014 Chevy G-4500 chassis, the 159” module is a demo unit. The custom interior layout has angled cabinets for crew safety, flush mounted curbside cabinetry, an integrated radio cabinet, dual locking front wall cabinets, and a clean sweep interior with sealed aluminum cabinets. Storage features include a forward compartment for oxygen, and stair chair storage on the compartment street side door. The unit also has an expanded CPR seat, Braun’s exclusive EZ Glide™ Sliding Door, and a Whelen LED Warning Light Package.
Lastly, show attendees can stop by the Freightliner booth (# 4521) to spot the last Braun unit on display. The Super Chief Type I ambulance is a custom emergency vehicle from Polk County Fire Rescue. Mounted on a 2013 Freightliner M2 chassis, the 170” module includes slide out SCBA and gear storage, EVS 6-point seating, horizontal 02 storage space in the bench, a Knox MedVault, and a Norcold fridge unit. In addition, the exterior includes a custom graphics package and a 900 Series lighting package from Whelen.

They will be handing out free kids’ coloring packs that include a Braun water bottle, crayon set, and coloring page. The coloring page also serves as an entry into the 2014 Braun Family Coloring Contest.
