BrightStar Care Salt Lake City Takes Steps Toward a World Without Alzheimer’s
Salt Lake City, UT (PRWEB) September 08, 2017 -- On Saturday, September 23, a team sponsored by BrightStar Care Salt Lake City, a home care agency that also provides medical staffing solutions, will be participating in the Alzheimer’s Association 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The event takes place at 10:30 a.m. at the Utah State Capitol, South Lawn, 350 N. State Street, Salt Lake City, UT. BrightStar Care will also have a booth at the event.
“This is our third year sponsoring the walk here in Utah and a great opportunity for our staff to get involved with fundraising that directly improves the lives of people in our community,” said Tammara Brown, owner of BrightStar Care Salt Lake City.
Funds raised at the 2017 Walk to End Alzheimer’s will help advance Alzheimer’s support, care and research. To register, volunteer and/or donate, please visit http://act.alz.org/site/TR/Walk2017/UT-Utah?pg=team&fr_id=10160&team_id=429787&skip_login_page=true.
To further assist those with Alzheimer’s, BrightStar Care Salt Lake City is also offering BrightStar Connections, a special program and training geared towards clients with dementia and Alzheimer’s. “BrightStar Connections is built on the premise that the lives of our clients can be enriched with person-centered care that preserves dignity, provides assistance and promotes activity in a setting that is comfortable and familiar -- their home,” added Brown.
BrightStar Connections is the only in-home Alzheimer’s and dementia care program of its kind. Its experienced nurses create an individualized plan of care and provide care oversight to ensure the safety and comfort of the patient. Specially trained caregivers have a minimum of one year experience and are certified in the BrightStar Care dementia approach. The team collaborates closely with clients, family and other healthcare providers.
“Hearing the news that a loved one has Alzheimer’s or dementia can be unsettling, even scary,” concluded Brown “It’s important to know that you don’t have to take this journey alone, and there’s help available to you and to your loved one that can ease the burden and provide some clear direction during this uncertain and unpredictable time.”
