Britannica Publishes New e-Books for Schools; Seventy Titles in History, Civics, Sports, Science Join 1,100+ Collection
Chicago, Ill. (PRWEB) August 27, 2015 -- Britannica® Digital Learning has just published seventy new e-books for grades preK-12 on a wide range of school subjects, the company announced today.
The new titles, which join Britannica’s current e-book collection of more than 1,100 volumes, cover a wide range of school subjects, including history, biography, civics and government, sports and science. Special series focus on biotechnology, history and visual and performing arts.
Britannica e-books are rigorously edited, extensively illustrated and designed to be enjoyable and engaging to students. They provide schools and libraries with a large selection of high-quality texts for classroom study and research. The collection is especially strong in non-fiction titles that support the Common Core State Standards and Next Generation Science Standards, as well as state curriculum guidelines. All e-books are age-appropriate with indications of Guided Reading and Lexile levels.
Britannica e-books are also whiteboard ready, making them ideal for use both in small classrooms and large lecture halls. Schools do not have to spend additional funds on reading devices; the e-books can be accessed 24/7 by students, teachers and library patrons through any Web connection. All titles in a school’s or library’s holdings can be searched with a single keyword.
“Demand for e-books in schools and libraries has been growing steadily, and Britannica e-books have been popular with students, teachers and library patrons because of their quality and ease of use. Our goal is to continue to add engaging new titles to serve them better,” said Michael Ross, general manager of Britannica Digital Learning and a senior vice president at Encyclopaedia Britannica, Inc.
