BRM Announces Flex-Hone® for Rifles Success Stories: Gunsmithing Tools
Los Angeles, CA (USA) (PRWEB) January 28, 2015 -- Brush Research Manufacturing (BRM), American-owned supplier of gunsmithing tools for cylinder surface finishing, is announcing a new article about flexible honing for rifle chambers. As the BRM technical team explained at SHOT Show 2015 last week, Flex-Hone® for Firearms tools promote performance by removing surface imperfections and imparting a plateau finish that optimizes lubrication.
How Flexible Honing Works
As BRM’s new online article explains, the Flex-Hone® for Rifles refines the raised areas or “peaks” that can interfere with proper firearms functioning. These gunsmithing tools produce oil-retaining valleys, but without removing significant amounts of material. Flexible honing is ideal for imparting a final finish while keeping the bores of your firearms at the precise dimensions required.
Flex-Hone® for Firearms tools are easy-to-use and mount in handheld power tools and production equipment. Known also as ball hones or plateau hones, they feature abrasive globules or balls that are permanently laminated to flexible nylon filaments. Flexible honing tools should always be used with a high-quality lubricant, and are self-centering, self-aligning to the bore, and self-compensating for wear.
Examples: M1917 and AR-15 Chambers
As BRM’s article explains, Flex-Hone® users themselves offer evidence of flexible honing’s surface finishing successes. For example, the owner of a U.S. Model of 1917 Enfield Rifle needed to remove rust and residues. After an unsuccessful attempt with a chamber brush, the gunsmith tried a Flex-Hone® for Rifles tool and, as he explained, "finally found a solution”.
Flex-Hone® for Rifles Success Stories also documents how the owner of an AR-15 used a flexible honing tool to polish the rifle’s chamber, ensuring that spent cartridges case ejected properly. The gun owner listed all of the tools that he used, but only mentioned one by name – the Flex-Hone® for Firearms. To learn more about how BRM solves surface finishing challenges, contact us today.
