BRW Names Aged Foot Care on the Fast 100 Once Again
Melbourne, Victoria (PRWEB) October 24, 2013 -- Australia’s leading podiatry company, Aged Foot Care (AFC), is delighted to have been included in the 2013 BRW Fast 100 Awards. This is the second year running the company has been included on the Fast 100 list.
The BRW Fast 100 list ranks Australia’s fastest growing, public and private, small and medium businesses. The annual list has established a strong reputation as being the premier guide to the fastest growing small and medium businesses in Australia.
Damien James, Founder and CEO of Aged Foot Care, said that to be recognised once by Australia's most authoritative and popular business publication was an honour, let alone being included for the second year in a row. “We can’t believe we are on the list again! Being a BRW Fast 100 company two years running is fantastic. It’s great recognition of the dedication and effort our team puts in to our aged care services each and every day.”
AFC is Australia’s fastest growing podiatry services provider and the country’s largest podiatry company, treating around 4,000 aged care residents across the nation each week.
“We actually made a decision earlier this year to turn down the volume on growth because we felt we were losing the balance between business performance and being a great place to work, so getting on the list is a bit unexpected to be honest,” said James. “What makes that interesting is that we came 69th on the BRW Great Place to Work list this year as well, so what we have been able to do is create a great working environment, which is clearly also a productive environment. It’s nice to be externally recognised on both fronts.”
James said that the secret of their success is a focus on creating a happy and productive team. “It’s so much more than having a great culture; it’s about having the systems, support, training, and a whole range of things in place to help everyone succeed. Our management team undertakes detailed quarterly audits, assessing specifically identified parts of the business, which help us to focus on improving the ‘few critical’ areas rather than spread our energy over the ‘important many’.”
“While most companies focus on their customer, we focus on our people. We’ve got the basics right and have a team out there who are happy and productive, in turn they make (aged care) residents happy which ensures the (registered aged care) facilities are happy with us – it’s a win-win-win that’s fueling our growth.
James said that this result is a credit to the whole team. “Everyone in the company should be proud, as their individual contribution has been instrumental in this achievement. Congratulations to the AFC team and all of the winners on this prestigious list.”
The award comes after AFC was recently named for the third year in a row on Smart50, Smart Company’s list of the fastest growing SME’s in Australia.
BRW said quality of the 2013 BRW Fast 100 was as high as ever, as businesses and entrepreneurs from all of Australia’s major vertical industries presented the solid business practices required to deliver growth in a downturn.
