bTrade Confirms That Its Managed File Transfer Solutions Are Not Impacted By Heartbleed Bug
Glendale, CA (PRWEB) April 17, 2014 -- bTrade, the industry leading compression and managed file transfer (MFT) provider, today announced that their TD and secureXchange solutions are not vulnerable to the Heartbleed bug.
The Heartbleed Bug (CVE-2014-0160) exploits a serious vulnerability in OpenSSL giving hackers the opportunity to obtain encryption keys used to secure content that is transmitted over SSL/TLS sessions. The bug can potentially give attackers access to formerly encrypted information such as usernames, passwords and other sensitive data.
“bTrade products are not affected by the Heartbleed bug,” commented, Clifton Gonsalves, VP of Engineering for bTrade. “Since SSL is being continuously attacked, we recommend that you not rely solely on SSL or SSH to secure your file transfers. To ensure a higher level of security, you should first encrypt the data, and then transmit using a secure protocol.”
