Bucks Wedding Venue’s Top Five Wedding Trends for 2014
Lane End, Buckinghamshire (PRWEB UK) 11 October 2013 -- Prestigious Buckinghamshire wedding venue, The Pavilion at Lane End, has identified five top wedding trends for 2014.
“Having recently celebrated 10 years of hosting weddings and as one of only two wedding venues in Buckinghamshire licensed to hold indoor and outdoor wedding ceremonies, we are finely tuned as to what’s hot and what’s not in the industry and amongst brides-to-be,” said Heni Fourie, The Pavilion Sales and Marketing Manager.
Here are The Pavilion’s predictions for what’s going to be big in bridal in 2014:
Organic, natural weddings – Although opulent vintage weddings are still popular - feedback from Pavilion brides-to-be show that the biggest trend for 2014 is natural weddings.
Wedding Ideas magazine also place natural wedding themes high on its list of trends for next year.
Gone are gilt birdcages and mountains of macaroons, instead natural weddings are about getting back to nature.
Key elements include countryside or woodland settings, wild flowers, cute homemade favours and delicious organic food.
“There has been a marked increase for natural, outdoor weddings. In particular couples are choosing our country gazebo or making the most of the countryside by walking to the local church” said Heni.
Professional Photography - Wedding photography is a personal choice but the days of having a family friend take the photos may be numbered.
The Pavilion wedding venue near High Wycombe has experienced a sharp rise in demand for professional wedding photography services - something it expects to continue in 2014.
“Having a friend take your photos is a great way to squeeze your budget; however, around 90 per cent of couples are opting to appoint a professional snapper or use our recommended photographer to capture their day.”
Couples are also breaking away from traditional posed shots, preferring crisp contemporary reportage photography to capture their day. For examples contact Heni Fourie Photography.
Wedding Cakes – Expected to be a big hit in 2014 are hand painted cakes.
Tying into the ‘natural’ theme, the Buckinghamshire county wedding venue reports that more couples are selecting custom hand painted and sugar art wedding cakes.
“Couples can choose specific wedding packages to include the wedding cake. Recently we have seen an increase in brides requesting cakes hand painted with flowers or intricate handmade flowers,” said Heni.
Wild Flowers – Bunches of wild flowers appeared at weddings throughout August and September this year and The Pavilion wedding venue anticipates these will be even more popular in 2014.
Orchids, lisianthus, heather and blue mountain thistle look stunning in hand tied bouquets, centrepieces and garlands. It is important to bear in mind that some wild flowers are protected by law.
If you don’t want to source them yourself, look for a local florist that specialises in wild flowers or opt for a wedding package that includes flowers.
Wedding Menus – The past few years have all been about mini-food that guests can eat in one bite.
2014 wedding food is about giving guests something a little heartier.
“We are definitely seeing a return to the traditional with brides wanting an elegant sit down meal,” said Heni.
“In response our Head Chef at Lane End recently launched our 2014 wedding menu. Rather than finger food it is plump full of traditional favourites, such as rump of lamb and sherry trifle. Each dish has an individual twist for extra wedding wow factor.”
