Bud & Marilyn's Opens at The Independent Hotel This Fall

Philadelphia (PRWEB) November 17, 2015 -- This fall, guests and locals at Philadelphia’s Independent Hotel are being transported back to the 1960’s with the long awaited opening of Bud & Marilyn’s, the latest addition to Chef Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran’s restaurant empire and the second of the pair’s restaurants located at The Independent Hotel.

Serving up a kitschy take on classic American cuisine, the new restaurant pays homage to Chef Marcie Blaine Turney’s grandparents, the original Bud & Marilyn, and her Wisconsin heritage. Mid-century modern décor reminiscent of a 1964 dining room in suburban Milwaukee fills the space with retro televisions and vintage ashtrays (ornamental only) completing the look. Top menu items include some hearty comfort foods and Midwest favorites: fried cheese curds, meatloaf and chop suey. Bud and Marilyn’s serves happy hour Monday – Friday from 5pm-7pm and dinner daily starting at 5pm. Restaurant goers can expect brunch and lunch service soon to come.

Located in the heart of Midtown Village, The Independent Hotel is a boutique lifestyle hotel with a residential feel. All 24 guestrooms are unique with features such as fireplaces, exposed brick walls and cathedral ceilings.
