Buddy’s Kitchen Introduces Authentic La Cocina Burrito Line in Response to Changing Consumer Preferences
MINNEAPOLIS (PRWEB) August 14, 2015 -- Buddy’s Kitchen, Inc., a producer and co-packer of custom food products, announced that it is launching La Cocina, a line of upscale, authentic hand-rolled burritos for convenience store chains and food service customers. La Cocina burritos will be available in early fall through wholesale distributors, including DOT Foods.
“Our goal is to redefine the c-store consumer experience with a high quality burrito not available today,” said Buddy’s Kitchen CEO, Dave Smith. “Initial feedback shows consumers love what our chefs created: authentic burritos with bold flavors and visibly identifiable ingredients.”
“The burritos also match changing consumer preferences for higher protein and lower fat in their overall diets. Our 5.5 ounce burritos contain up to 16 grams of protein,” Smith added.
La Cocina burritos are blended with natural, wholesome ingredients that represent popular ethnic flavors. The four flavors that make up the line include: Pork Carnitas; Chicken Tinga; Chorizo, Green Chile & Egg; and Breakfast Skillet.
Extending its lead in food innovation, Buddy’s R&D team designed the burritos to succeed across a variety of ovens found in convenience stores. The appealing packaging maintains product integrity up to two hours in conventional warmers.
Founded in 1974, Buddy’s Kitchen produces custom frozen food products for c-store retailers, airlines, CPG food companies, and food service organizations. Buddy’s Kitchen employs 250 people at its plant in Burnsville, Minnesota.
