Builder-Friendly VERSATEX MAX™ ‘2-By’ PVC Board System ExtendsTo Meet Industry Demand, with Nominal 2x4 and 2x6 Product Introduction
Pittsburgh, PA (PRWEB) January 07, 2014 -- The VERSATEX Max(TM) architectural trim product line made its debut early this year with a 11/2"-thick, 48-inch wide sheet — 1/4" thicker than competing extruded PVC products. In response to fabricator requests for dimensionally compatible materials to reduce cutting and handling operations, the VERSATEX team went on to develop nominal 2x8, 2x10 and 2x12 boards.
“With the addition of our 2x4s and 2x6s, the industry finally has access to a complete system of 11/2" trim board material,” VERSATEX president John Pace said today. “Our customers in the field are already reporting gains in productivity, along with reductions in costs associated with handling, fabrication time, and scrap.”
According to Rick Kapres, vice president, sales, at VERSATEX, “Wooden 2-bys are still the basic building blocks of the housing industry. Now, if you’re making fabricated items like laminated pergola beams, custom mouldings, window surrounds, corbels or spindles, you can take advantage of PVC’s stability and weather-resistance without the hassle of reconciling ‘PVC sizes’ with standard lumber sizes. And with VERSATEX Max boards, you’re starting with clean, dimensionally accurate edges and true, 90-degree angles.”
Mr. Kapres said all VERSATEX Max board sizes will be on display at this February’s NAHB International Builders’ Show in Las Vegas, and will be available from distributors nationwide starting in Mid December. Initially, all boards will be supplied in 12- and18-foot lengths, with the VERSATEX smooth-matte finish.
“Stop by and see us at the Builder’s Show,” Mr. Kapres said. “We’ll be at Booth C7139.”
VERSATEX MAX 2-by boards are manufactured by Wolfpac Technologies of Pittsburgh, Pa., where state-of-the-art facilities produce cellular PVC extrusion products such as VERSATEX trimboards, sheet, bead board, moldings and prefabricated corners, and the innovative VERSATEX soffit system.
