Burlington and Ross Solar Group Selected for Solarize Connecticut Solar Program
Burlington, CT (PRWEB) November 18, 2014 -- The Town of Burlington has been selected to participate in a unique solar discount program that makes going solar easy and affordable. The Solarize Burlington program will kick off with a workshop on Wednesday, November 19 at 7 pm at Burlington Town Hall, 200 Spielman Highway, Burlington. Residents can learn about the program and meet their pre-selected solar installer, Ross Solar Group. The town will join 14 other communities in Phase 5 of Solarize Connecticut with a goal to more than double the amount of solar currently in Burlington over the 18-week program. Over 40 communities have already participated in Solarize campaigns, with over 2,000 homeowners signing contracts for solar.
Solarize is a unique program offered by the Clean Energy Finance and Investment Authority, now known as the Connecticut Green Bank, in partnership with SmartPower, that increases residential solar through a proven formula. It leverages group discounts through a pre-selected installer to reduce the cost of solar; it includes a tiered pricing structure, so the more residents sign up, the lower the cost for everyone, no matter when they sign a contract; it relies on the community to provide outreach and education to create awareness and build interest, and it promotes a clear end date that motivates residents to act. Over the past several weeks Burlington officials have been interviewing installers and announced recently they have formally selected Ross Solar Group to be part of Solarize Burlington program and do all of Burlington’s solar installations.
Burlington First Selectman Theodore Shafter commented: “The Town of Burlington is pleased to be a part of the State of Connecticut’s “Solarize CT” program. We will continue to seek and provide residents with opportunities for reducing energy costs and switching to cleaner energy options.”
“CT Green Bank is extremely proud of what we have been able to achieve through the Solarize program. We continue to see our financing tools and the Solarize model bringing down the cost of solar and making it affordable for more and more homeowners throughout Connecticut”, stated Bryan Garcia, President and CEO of the CT Green Bank. “We expect to achieve similar success as we begin the next phase of this innovative program with the participation of Burlington’s leaders and their dedicated volunteers.”
Solarize Burlington will officially kick off with its first solar workshop on Wednesday, November 19 at 7 pm at Burlington Town Hall, 200 Spielman Highway, Burlington. Residents who are interested in learning more about Solarize Burlington are urged to attend. In order to participate in the discounts offered through the program, residents must sign a contract by March 26, 2015.
