BURST: a screenplay of the housing crisis from an insider’s view
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) May 04, 2015 -- Everyone knows about the collapse of the housing market in 2007 and the effect it had on the economy. Bank executive Harry Holland of Atlanta is now offering an insider’s view of the housing crisis by writing a compelling screenplay about this dark period in American history.
BURST is a dramatic character-driven story inspired by true events. Holland’s script, culled from real-life experiences and anecdotes, provides an intelligent look behind the scenes of the manipulation and poor choices that were made by the banks, lenders and borrowers.
“Most people don’t know the true story behind this nationwide scandal,” notes Holland. “Millions lost their homes and billions of dollars suddenly vanished overnight. The film tells a story of what went on behind the walls of the banks that infamously received millions of dollars in bailouts from the government. These banks refused to change their ways, even in the face of utter failure.”
Holland has teamed with veteran film director Jason Dudek to create a project development team for BURST. Dudek is known for his work on Crime Scene Investigation (CSI), There's Something About Mary and One Hour Photo.
A relative newcomer to the world of screenwriting, Holland spent the majority of his adult life as a banker in the southeast. In 2013, he wrote the screenplay for BURST and is currently working on two other scripts.
“This is an important film,” Holland says. “As American’s we need to understand what occurred during the financial crisis from all perspectives, including the banker’s. Now is the time to review this critical period of history and to reflect.”
The budget calls for $100,000 to be used for project funding, taking the project from its current stage (fully-developed script) to full-budget funding. This will include completion of the marketing and business plans, and aligning talent to the project.

The campaign enables backers to not only support the film but appear in it as well. For a $25 donation, you can receive a free download of the finished movie. A $250 pledge is rewarded with a screen credit plus a free download of the film.
For $500, you can be an extra in the film and receive all of the above perks.
“We’re hoping that people around the country will want to see a dramatic presentation of the housing crisis and will support this project,” Holland says. “Donations of any amount are more than welcome.”
