Business Architecture Guild Releases: A Guide to the Business Architecture Knowledge™ V4.5
Soquel, CA (PRWEB) July 15, 2015 -- As an outgrowth of business architecture’s growing popularity, the Guild continues to package and share member-contributed best practices via the BIZBOK® Guide. Version 4.5 includes new content, new sections and a range of enhancements and refinements:
- New Case Study: A new business architecture case study now chronicles the story of a member team that established a foundational mapping of the Guild’s business architecture. The case study includes the background, the journey and related capability, value, information and organization maps.
- Strategy Mapping Upgrades: Strategy mapping is a key factor in making executive plans actionable. The newly enhanced strategy mapping section will help ensure that business architecture serves as the basis for turning strategic plans into actionable results.
- Case Management Updates: Case management is a must-have discipline for businesses managing complex customer lifecycles. Practice-inspired, case management updates further enable organizations to seamlessly leverage business architecture for case management deployment.
- Information Mapping Improvements: Information mapping is an important, yet underutilized, aspect of business architecture. Recent Information mapping enhancements streamline the overall process for practitioners, ensuring that business information perspectives are leveraged across various programs and investments.
- Business Architecture Maturity Model (BAMM): The BAMM enables a business to self-assess its business architecture efforts and recent BAMM enhancements ensure continued coverage of major discipline categories.
- Business Architecture Practice-Based Enhancements: Version 4.5 also added practice-oriented enhancements to sections on capability mapping, value mapping, business model alignment, business requirements alignment, enterprise architecture framework alignment and the glossary.
Members agree on the value of the BIZBOK® Guide. According to Guild member Alex Randell, “The BIZBOK® Guide is instrumental in providing guidance to business architecture practitioners as they develop, maintain and advance a business architecture practice. It provides insights ranging from foundational guidance to advanced topics to the value delivered by business architecture.” Alex chairs the Collaborative Leadership Team, the governing body of collaborative member teams responsible for Guild content contribution.
Collaborative member teams develop new content on a continuing basis. This content is formally packaged and released in new versions of the BIZBOK® Guide. The large and growing list of member contributors from a variety of geographic regions, industries and backgrounds can be found in BIZBOK® Guide Appendix E.
