(PRWEB) April 25, 2014 -- The desktop alert system DeskAlerts has published the results of its latest survey after setting out to discover what businesses of up to 1000 employees rely on as their primary communication channel.
The results of the survey showed that small to medium businesses favor one of three main business communications channels. There was a clear leader when it came to picking the most popular channel with email cited as one of the top three preferred channels by 94% of businesses. 63% of those surveyed by the enterprise messaging system said that they also used face to face meetings with their team while in third place, 58% said they frequently utilized daily, weekly and monthly newsletters — a proportion of which would also be distributed by email.
Anton Vdovin, Project Manager at DeskAlerts, said, "It is astounding that 94% of small businesses with less than 1000 employees favor email as a communication channel even given its unreliability and the problems inherent in the medium such as the high levels of emails not delivered, not opened, not understood and marked as spam.
What is clear is that there is a huge potential for those organizations still relying on email to make a huge leap forwards in their business communications strategy by introducing a more sophisticated and strategic system such as the DeskAlerts desktop alert system into the mix."
As a web-based system, DeskAlerts can be used as an efficient and effective communication channel by allowing users to send desktop alerts and news updates to any employee within the organization. Unlike emails which place a burden of action on the recipient, DeskAlerts notices are prominently displayed on the target screen, ensuring important corporate communications are not at risk of being ignored.
About DeskAlerts: DeskAlerts is the only alert solution that works in technologically and geographically diverse networks. It is a completely web-based solution that can be used to send desktop alerts and news updates to any employee within your organization, improving corporate communications and productivity with a more efficient communication strategy than traditional email alone.
