Business Consultant, Chris Reich, Uses Physics to Help Ailing Businesses
Etna, CA (PRWEB) July 31, 2013 -- Chris Reich gave an interesting workshop recently where he presented ideas from physics to teach business concepts. Reich developed the physics of business to help American businesses improve in a very competitive economy.
One fascinating example that Mr. Reich used in the workshop involves a typical cross country airplane trip. Reich explains, "So let's think about something very interesting. Modern jets are not as well insulated as your house. I mean, look at the windows. They aren't very thick though they are at least double-paned. It's very noisy inside because the airplane is not well insulated. It's pretty well sealed but not well insulated."
"Consider the average trip altitude of 38,000 feet. Do you know it's somewhere between 50 and 75 degrees below zero outside of the aircraft? Yes, you heard me correctly. 75 degrees below zero."
"The aircraft is pressurized to near sea level normals. Of course, they have to bring in some air from the outside. They have to bring in a lot because that outside air is so thin it takes a lot of it to amount to enough breathable air for the passengers."
"Here's the weird part. Even though the air is 75 degrees below zero, they have to run the air conditioning nearly fully blast to COOL the air in the cabin. This is true even though the plane is poorly insulated and it is very, very cold outside! They have to cool the cabin or it would be 140 degrees inside the aircraft."
Reich loves to see the audience grapple with this paradox and then continues, "So what's happening? Why can't you figure this out? I gave you all of the information and the answer to the problem, why we must work hard to cool the aircraft, is obvious. But it is only obvious if you know some physics."
Reich then correlates physics to business.
"The answer is pressure. When we pressurize a gas the temperature increases. We have to pressurize the outside air a lot. The pressure pushes the temperature up so far that we must cool the air that started out being very cold! Pressure makes heat."
"What's that got to do with business?" Asks Reich. This writer probably shouldn't give away his trade secrets so perhaps you should schedule a physics workshop at your business. Chris Reich is an incredible speaker and his physics of business workshops are certainly innovative and refreshingly original.
Chris Reich can be reached for interview by phone or though email. Interested parties should visit TeachU.com or BizPhyZ.com. The workshops are an incredible bargain. Reich told me, "I know every business can do better!" He believes it too!
