Business RadioX®'s Squawk Talk Features Roundtable Discussion on Short Sales
Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) October 22, 2013 -- On October 16, 2013, Kate Schermerhorn, host of Squawk Talk on Business RadioX®, was joined in the studio by Joshua Jarvis with Jarvis Team Realty/Keller Williams, Tal Kramer with Atlanta Communities and David Perrie from Perrie and Associates to talk about short sales.
The first guest was Joshua Jarvis who runs the Jarvis Team at Keller Williams. The Jarvis Team sold 102 homes in 2012 and is on track for another banner year. He has closed over 100 short sales and, according to Jarvis, "Although this is not my only business, short sales are an area of expertise that few agents can match." Jarvis has a team of six agents and serves Gwinnett and surrounding counties.
Jarvis defined short sale, saying, "The lender has agreed to accept less money for the sale of a property than what is owed on the loan." The recent recession resulted in a tremendous increase in short sales.
Also in the studio was Tal Kramer with Atlanta Communities, a real estate fixture in North Atlanta for over 20 years. Formerly Re/Max Communities, they now have offices in East Cobb, West Cobb, Cherokee, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody and Buckhead.
Rounding out the discussion was David Perrie with Perrie and Associates. Explained Perrie, "We deal with closings for both residential and commercial properties. We have several attorneys on staff who specialize in this area and can provide our clients with representation during the entire closing process." In working specifically with short sales, Perrie observed, "A short sale typically will net the lender 22% more than if they were to go through the foreclosure process," making the short sale a more desirable option for lenders.
