Orangetheory Fitness is a one-of-a-kind, group personal training workout broken into intervals of cardiovascular and strength training. Backed by the science of excess post-exercise oxygen consumption (EPOC), Orangetheory’s heart-rate-monitored training is designed to maintain a target zone that stimulates metabolism and increases energy. Led by skilled personal trainers, participants use a variety of equipment including treadmills, rowing machines, SBT Suspension Training and free weights, burning up to 500-1,000 calories in a 60-minute session. Orangetheory Fitness started in Fort Lauderdale and had its first center open for a year before franchising. Now, just a few years later, Orangetheory is opening its 50th center worldwide, here in Atlanta. According to Dave Long, "We both have a franchising background and wanted to get back into health, wellness and fitness." The Longs' next goal is to open another 30 locations in the next three to four months.
