Busy “Yearbook Season” Begins Early at DocuCopies.com
(PRWEB) April 30, 2015 -- Like the first streams of water that precede a flood, the first of the season's memory book orders started trickling in this month at DocuCopies.com, and the team is putting on their rain boots.
The spring rush, or “Yearbook Season” as many at DocuCopies call it, has historically been a harbinger of the busy printing season to come. But after an extraordinarily full spring in 2014, the online printing company upgraded and expanded their equipment to ensure their production time remains short and competitive. Upgrades include more printers, more bindery equipment and more employees.
Nonetheless, management want to remind their customers not to wait until the last minute to order their jobs, particularly large book jobs.
“The main reason people come to us is our great prices and quick production,” says Roe Pressley, vice president of customer relations at DocuCopies. “We’re ready for the rush, but we want to avoid the bottlenecking of orders as much as possible by encouraging these customers to submit their orders well ahead of time.”
Deadlines are a fact of life, says Pressley, but yearbooks stand out from other orders in a few ways: most customers want to see a hard copy proof before ordering them all, changes may be made and files resubmitted, different people at the school must sign off on the books, checks must be cut and mailed. And most importantly, yearbooks must be delivered before the last day of school or kids won’t get them on time.
“Our production time can change over the course of a couple days as we near the peak of the rush, so it’s always good to call ahead and get an estimate for your job’s turnaround time when you’re getting ready to order,” says Pressley.
