The show has run on and off since 2011, with Stewart, backed by a 13-piece band, performing hit songs like “Maggie May,” “Forever Young,” “Young Turks,” and more.
The current string of Vegas performances began on August 3. The final performance will be on August 21, before Stewart takes the show on the road with a set of dates in the Northeast and Europe.
Rod Stewart is one of the best-selling artists of all time, with over 100 million records sold worldwide. His career began in the London R&B scene of the 1960s, where he get his first big break in 1967 as a member of the Jeff Beck Group alongside former Yardbird Jeff Beck and future member of the Rolling Stones Ronnie Wood.
In 1969, Stewart and Wood joined English rock band the Faces, and Stewart released his debut solo album, “An Old Raincoat Won't Ever Let You Down.” Subsequent solo albums included “Every Picture Tells a Story” (1971) and “Never a Dull Moment” (1972). Stewart reached his commercial peak starting in the mid-1970s with the release of his album “Atlantic Crossing” (1975). He had four US Top Ten singles between 1982 and 1988, and in 1994 he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame by former bandmate Jeff Beck. In the 2000s Stewart shifted focus from original material to recording pop standards from the Great American Songbook.
