BYO Recreation Joins the Fight Against Childhood Obesity
St. Augustine, FL (PRWEB) August 30, 2013 -- BYO Recreation, a comprehensive distributor of commercial playground equipment, is joining the fight against childhood obesity by helping parents, schools and facilities celebrate National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month (COAM).
More than 23 million children in the United States ages two to 19 are obese or overweight—medical experts consider this statistic an epidemic. Nearly one third of America’s children are at early risk for Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and stroke. This epidemic prompted the first COAM in 2010, which called national attention to the issue. Since then, every September, Americans come together to promote awareness of childhood obesity and a healthier future for children.
