ByteCubed Attends SBIR/STTR Innovation Summit in Austin, TX
Arlington, VA (PRWEB) December 17, 2015 -- ByteCubed attended the 2015 Fall SBIR/STTR Innovation Summit December 1-3 in Austin, Texas. The annual event hosted by TechConnect in collaboration with the Small Business Administration, provides a forum for small business stakeholders and technology decision makers to network, exchange ideas, and share best practices on how to effectively leverage the funding opportunities provided by the Federal Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer Program (SBIR/STTR).
ByteCubed participated in plenary sessions, table top exhibits, and matchmaking meetings in support of the Department of Defense (DoD) SBIR/STTR Program. ByteCubed also provided attendees with useful program information regarding topics, funding opportunities, outreach tools, and the 16.1 & 16.A solicitation which is currently in pre-release on the ByteCubed developed DoD SBIR/STTR web portal. Omar Najibi, ByteCubed’s Deputy Program Manager, presented attendees an overview of the newly developed portal, highlighting its advanced features.
“We built the new SBIR/STTR web portal to be as user-friendly, effective, and resourceful as possible,” said Mr. Najibi. “Our goal is to have the new portal serve as a one stop shop for small businesses to submit proposals and find useful information that will guide them through the process. While the current site offers all the basic, foundational functions, ByteCubed has multiple future iterations of the site lined up that would expand on the portal’s capabilities.”
The DoD SBIR/STTR Program is dedicated to eliciting innovative solutions from the small business community that address the Department’s technology gaps. ByteCubed is devoted to providing the program with the resources to identify, engage, and empower both potential and current participants to successfully navigate the program and transition SBIR funded technologies to military and commercial markets.
ByteCubed was awarded the SBIR/STTR contract early this year. ByteCubed continues to assist DoD in the management of the Office of Small Business Programs and the Office of Manufacturing and Industrial Base Policy.
