Bard Inc. continue to move forward in a federal litigation now underway in U.S. District Court, Southern District of West Virginia, Bernstein Liebhard LLP reports. On January 9th, the Court issued the First Amended Docket Control Order pertaining to the selection and discovery of 200 cases for trial. Among other things, the Order stipulates that those cases which are to be tried in the Southern District of West Virginia will be deemed trial ready by February 2, 2015, or as soon as the Court rules on the parties’ dispositive motions, whichever is later. Trial dates for any vaginal mesh lawsuits transferred or remanded to other federal district courts will be determined by the judge to whom the case is assigned. (In Re: C.R. Bard, Inc., Pelvic Repair System Products Liability Litigation - MDL No. 2187)
“Our Firm is representing hundreds of women who allegedly suffered serious vaginal mesh complications due to products manufactured by C.R. Bard and other companies. We look forward to the commencement of additional trials in this proceeding, as their outcomes could provide important insight into how juries will rule in similar claims involving C.R. Bard pelvic mesh products,” says Bernstein Liebhard LLP, a nationwide law firm representing the victims of defective drugs and medical devices. The Firm continues to offer free case reviews to women who allegedly suffered serious vaginal mesh complications due to surgical mesh products used to treat pelvic organ prolapse and stress urinary incontinence.
