CAB IT Launches Multi-system Booking for Melbourne Taxi Service
Melbourne, Australia (PRWEB) January 30, 2014 -- Around $4.5 billion are spent on taxi fares annually, a great portion of which, according to CAB IT, goes to “intermediaries” that usually require taxi operators to join approved radio networks that are owned by big businesses for bookings. This arrangement, it seems, isn’t just a huge disadvantage for small taxi operators that have to meet the rising costs of running a service as well as paying for surcharges and other fees, but also for frequent cab riders, who are continually frustrated by the lack of transparency in taxi bookings. “We want to change the customer experience!” remarks CAB IT.
So say goodbye to delayed pickups and drop-offs as CAB IT, a newly created Melbourne taxi booking service, recently launched its multi-system approach, which makes use of existing technology combined with the familiarity of other means. According to CAB IT, “To book a taxi online is not rocket science, but technology advancements are constricting for the industry operators and their passengers.”
Beyond the Web and the use of apps, the newest booking service also offers passengers a way to book through the phone, which may be done with a call centre or direct to the driver. CAB IT clarifies, “The CAB IT call centre will be staffed 24 hours a day, seven days a week; if the CAB IT customer wishes to book a taxi in Melbourne and doesn’t want to use the app or online booking, then the traditional telephone booking system is available for Melbourne taxi customers.”
Passengers may also book their Melbourne cabs using CAB IT’s online system. The city’s newest taxi booking service shares that it’s using the latest booking technology, which enables passengers to arrange for taxis using their computers or their mobile phones. CAB IT tells passengers, “Book(ing) a taxi online further provides real-time tracking, showing you how far the taxi is and will provide an estimate on how long it will take.”
CAB IT has also unveiled the release of its new app called the CAB IT App, which makes booking or pre-booking all the more convenient. Says the taxi booking service, “The CAB IT app has been designed and built in Melbourne by experienced Melbourne taxi drivers. (It) provides real-time GPS tracking, allowing the customer to book the nearest taxi. The customer will then be able to track the taxi in real time to ascertain how long the wait will be.”
With many of the city’s drivers reportedly “cherry picking” passengers by locking their doors and cracking a window open to find out where the passenger’s headed before agreeing to let them on, booking a taxi through an efficient and transparent service has never been more critical than it is today.
According to a news report from The Age (http://www.theage.com.au/victoria/melbourne-taxi-drivers-cherry-picking-fares-from-locked-cars-city-bar-owner-claims-20131230-3036n.html), picking passengers isn’t just about violating Taxi Services Commission laws but is also an issue of public safety, with bar owners and Melbourne Lord Mayor Robert Doyle worrying about customers and young women facing difficulties with getting a taxi late at night.
In response to the city’s taxi drivers choosing long fares over short fares, the Essential Services commission has recommended a new taxi structure that would allow for higher Melbourne taxi fares (by 20 percent) during peak hours and lower fare for off-peak hours.
CAB IT’s efficient and convenient taxi booking service helps Melbourne passengers get a cab whenever, wherever — on time and through several reliable means. Taking the hassle out of arranging for taxis, CAB IT is not just targeting professionals and companies looking to stave off expenses while ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs, but also hoping students will be able to make use of their service in order to manage the costs of living in the city.
“CAB IT will focus on delivering value and customer service to all Melbourne taxi patrons. The CAB IT fleet will be distinctively recognisable and all Melbourne taxi patrons will be able to use this service,” CAB IT remarks.
CAB IT’s taxi fleets are set to hit the streets early this year. For more updates and information on the city’s new taxi booking service, explore the CAB IT website today.
