CafeGive Social Helps Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest Kick off a Year of Social Media Fundraising Campaigns
Portland, OR (PRWEB) March 26, 2015 -- Girls Inc. of the Pacific Northwest kicked off the first of its 2015 campaigns with the #PowerofHer movement. Enlisting the guidance of CafeGive Social, the team built their campaign around that hashtag, which speaks to their mission to empower girls and women to take ownership of their bold, smart, and strong sides. Using a social aggregation tool, CafeGive was able to help Girls Inc. build a Pinterest-esque page that would collect and display the tagged posts from Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
Through its Social Media Mashup Page, Girls Inc. asked fans and local leaders to share tagged posts on each channel. For each post, Comcast—Girls’ Inc.’s sponsor—committed to contribute an in-kind donation worth $5 towards an initial goal of 500 posts for $2,500. Acting as a cause marketing consultant, CafeGive collaborated with Girls Inc. to strategize and implement a promotional strategy via emails, events, and a fine-tuned social media posting schedule.
By adopting these strategies and capitalizing on relevant and timely viral content, Girls Inc. reached and exceeded their donation goal while exponentially expanding its brand reach nationwide.
A well-timed post during the hype of Patricia Arquette’s Oscars acceptance speech reached uncharted impressions on Twitter and Instagram.
Comcast generously offered to match the additional posts raised on top of their original commitment for a total of $3,240 in-kind donations.
While this first campaign has come to a successful close, the hashtag #PowerOfHer will remain a symbol throughout the year, and beyond. Its clear message holds true for the entire suite of campaigns to come. For the time-being, the mashup page will continue to grow on Girls Inc.’s website as a window to the hundreds of amazing posts shared by advocates for women’s empowerment.
