California Apartment Association Selects Optimum Seismic to Conduct Earthquake Retrofit Education on Behalf of the Organization
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (PRWEB) April 26, 2017 -- Optimum Seismic, Inc., Southern California’s leading earthquake retrofit company, is hosting a series of educational outreach initiatives to be held throughout Southern California. The California Apartment Association will also be part of these educational events to discuss the various services they provide to the multi-family housing industry.
Informational seminars, articles and other means of public outreach are planned to help educate building owners about new laws, applications and services associated with earthquake retrofit construction.
“A growing number of cities in California are adopting seismic retrofit laws to make their buildings and communities more resilient in the event of a major earthquake,” said Kevin Pellegrino, CAA’s senior vice president of membership and marketing. “To help keep the public informed, Optimum Seismic has developed a great educational program on a series of key initiatives designed to provide our members and non-members with the clear and updated information they need to make informed decisions.”

Optimum Seismic President and Founder Ali Vahdani, a State of California licensed Professional Engineer, said certain structures have been deemed to be more vulnerable to failure or collapse from earthquakes, particularly older soft-story apartment buildings.
“It is vitally important that these structures be retrofitted properly and with minimal disruption to the people who live or work there,” Vahdani said. “These seminars will help to provide information on the various retrofit laws, applications and programs available to assist building owners.”
