California Attorneys Mark Robinson and Patrick Bailey File Class Action Lawsuit Related to Takata's Defective Air Bags
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) December 11, 2014 -- In the introduction to the complaint filed with the United States District Court, Central District of California, Western Division on November 14, 2014, Robinson and Bailey argue that Takata and Honda may have known about the problems with the air bags for many years but have "only very recently" started "a partial recall of affected vehicles" (Case Number EDCV14-02346 VAP KKx).
The Washington Times reports that Takata has admitted their air bags are susceptible to malfunction when they are exposed to high humidity on a regular basis ("US agency threatens to act against air bag maker" by Tom Krisher November 26, 2014).
The complaint filed by Robinson and Bailey alleges that Honda and Takata both knew of the dangers related to the air bags but may have "delayed reporting the full extent of the danger to drivers and passengers and failed to issue appropriate recalls," according to allegations in the court documents the attorneys filed in November.
According to the court filing, Robinson and Bailey are seeking more the 5 million dollars in compensation for two individual Plaintiffs and all members of the class they represent. They are seeking relief based upon the potential dangers in their Honda vehicles, the diminished values of their vehicles due to the alleged air bag dangers and other presumed wrongs including allegations of misrepresentation by Honda and Takata.
