California Nurse Wins a Prescription for Relaxation
San Mateo, CA (PRWEB) August 11, 2015 -- RN Amanda Cooper gives 110 percent for her patients, but soon she’ll be “giving in” to a relaxing, luxurious getaway at the world-famous Chocolate Spa at The Hotel Hershey® in Hershey, Pennsylvania. Amanda is the latest winner of California Casualty’s “Give A Nurse A Break” contest. A co-worker and her husband will be joining Amanda and her husband in enjoying an all-expense paid, three day trip, which includes chocolate massages and other special treatments at the spa.
“I can’t believe this is happening; I never win anything,” said Amanda.
Amanda provides care in the very busy emergency department at Sutter Amador Hospital in Jackson, California, where she has worked for six years. “I enjoy helping others but sometimes we get so busy with our jobs that we sometimes forget that what we do is very hard work and important to a lot of people.”
She and her husband are insured with California Casualty and noticed the “Give A Nurse A Break” contest on the company’s Facebook page. Her name was picked from more than 30,000 entries nationwide.
“Those in the nursing profession work incredibly hard for their patients,” said California Casualty Sr. Vice President Mike McCormick. “We want to let them know how much we appreciate the care and healing they give, often under stressful conditions.”
Past winners include:
• Joyce, RN, Naperville, Illinois
• Lisa, LPN, Victoria, Texas
• Evan, RN, Birmingham, Alabama
• Tracie, RN, Farmington, Connecticut
