Call For Art Submissions: A Woman’s Voice Through Art
ERIE, Pa. (PRWEB) March 15, 2018 -- Erie Art Gallery is calling for entries that embrace and celebrate the female artist and her voice. Women are standing up all over the world and finding their special moment of empowerment, their truths, and their stories. In this open art call, we are asking for your interpretation of the feminine voice.
Open to all local, domestic, and national professional and amateur female and female-identifying artists. All art mediums will be considered in this call for submissions, from photography, sculpture, ceramics, fabric, mixed media, digital, video, and audio. Also all paintings and drawings including, oil, acrylic, pastels, ink, graphite, etc.

The Erie Art Gallery is an inspired and innovative community hub, which will inject art and activate the area. We want to support the ongoing betterment of Downtown Erie. Together with the Erie people connect with art, artists, ideas and each other.

Cat Palmer – Salt Lake City
Born and raised in Orange County, California, Cat Palmer developed her insatiable romance with photography at 15 years old, against the backdrop of Los Angeles… a place teeming with racial divides, cultural diversity, and economic inequality. her world view further evolved as she immersed herself in the streets of Mexico, developing a new obsession that would plague her art, forever… human empowerment.
Her empowerment themes have been: self-esteem, peace, self-reliance, i am human, there’s no place like home, peace to the middle east, age of aesthetics in defying societies definition of beauty, super hero women, ‘i have a secret’, keep the politicians out of our VAGINA, transgender visibility and a series with an orwellian theme.
Alison Stinely – Norfolk Virginia
Alison Stinely was born and raised in Erie, Pennsylvania. She received her BFA in Painting from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and her MFA in Painting from Indiana University located in Bloomington, Indiana. She is an Assistant Professor of Painting at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia.
Alison’s work has been shown in many juried and invitational exhibits nationally. She has also been the recipient of many awards and honors and is a two time winner of the prestigious Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation Grant. Her solo exhibition “Nocturnal Emissions” was featured on Hi-Fructose.com and her work “Rib Meat” has been featured in issue 198 of Juxtapoz Magazine. Her work is in many private collections both domestically and abroad.
Jhenah Telyndru – Ithaca New York
Jhenah holds an MA in Celtic Studies from the University of Wales, Trinity St. David, as well as a BA in archaeology. She is the founder of the Sisterhood of Avalon and serves as Academic Dean and lead instructor of the Avalonian Theological Seminary. Jhenah teaches four day retreat experiences around North America and the UK, and facilitates pilgrimages to sacred sites in the British Isles and Ireland through Mythic Seeker Tours.
She is a frequent presenter and guest speaker at academic conferences, religious symposia, Women’s Spirituality gatherings, and Pagan festivals. A priestess in the Avalonian Tradition, Jhenah has been dedicated to the work of Avalon for almost 25 years, and has been active in the Goddess Spirituality movement since 1986.
