Callens Insurance Group Launches New Charity Campaign to Provide Help and Hope for Local Foster Children in Collaboration with Nonprofit Duffels for H.O.P.E.
Tyler, TX (PRWEB) January 09, 2016 -- Callens Insurance Group, a full service firm serving the Tyler, TX metro area, has announced the latest beneficiary of their ongoing community enrichment program. The current campaign shines the spotlight on Duffels for H.O.P.E., a nonprofit organization which collects new backpacks and duffel bags for children entering the foster system in Smith County. Drop off locations for donations of stuffed bags may be found at http://www.duffelsforhope.org/#!/page_WhatYouCanDo.
Duffels for H.O.P.E. (Having Only Positive Expectations) was begun in 2012, when Gina and Brian Jones brought home their first foster children, who carried their personal belongings in trash bags. Sadness overcame Gina, thinking of the trauma these children had been through and the message that was being sent by throwing the only belongings they possessed into trash bags. She believed a positive message of hope and love could be sent if each child were presented with a new bag filled with helpful items when entering the foster system. Proper transitional containers include new or unused large backpacks and duffel, military and laundry bags. The organization also accepts donations of journals, toiletries, clothing and toys with which to stuff the bags.
“This is a perfect example of why we created our Community Program,” said Jeff Callens, owner of Callens Insurance Group. “These children have been through so much – surely they deserve a positive message of empowerment and hope for the future from our community. We’re happy to help Duffels for H.O.P.E. in whatever way possible.”
Callens Insurance Group just recently launched their master charity program, of which the current campaign is part, pledging to select a new local organization, family or individual every 30-60 days to receive their support. The Callens team is hard at work promoting the campaign for Duffels for H.O.P.E. through its social media channels, email and text message communications, as well as through their monthly magazine. Our Hometown is delivered to thousands of households in Tyler and surrounding communities. Reserving a full page to feature the initiative and all the pertinent details, the electronic Flipbook version of the current issue may be accessed here: http://callensinsurance.com/Our-Hometown-Magazine_41.
