CalSTRS Names Lisa Blatnick Chief of Administrative Services

WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. (PRWEB) August 12, 2014 -- California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS) today announced the promotion of Lisa Blatnick to Chief of Administrative Services, an executive position focused, in part, on attaining business goals outlined in CalSTRS 2014-15 fiscal year business plan. Ms. Blatnick’s position was effective August 1, 2014.

Ms. Blatnick will oversee the strategic direction, policy development and management of the Administrative Services Branch. This new branch streamlines internal organizational functions for human resources, facilities and procurement management activities.

“Lisa brings a powerful combination of demonstrated customer focus and successful collaboration with business areas throughout the organization,” stated CalSTRS Chief Operating Officer Cassandra Lichnock. “With Lisa in this leadership role, we are well-positioned to tackle our key goals and priorities.”

Blatnick joined CalSTRS Facilities Management and Planning Division in 2003. She was appointed the business lead for the development and construction oversight for CalSTRS new headquarters building in 2006. She was promoted to director of Facilities Management and Planning in 2007.

“I have contributed to the mission and strategic vision of CalSTRS for more than a decade, and I am thrilled to play a larger role in its future,” said Ms. Blatnick.

Blatnick has more than 21 years of California state government service including facilities management related positions at the Office of Legislative Council and the Office of Criminal Justice Planning.

The California State Teachers’ Retirement System, with a portfolio valued at $189.1 billion as of June 30, 2014, is the largest educator-only pension fund in the world. CalSTRS administers a hybrid retirement system, consisting of traditional defined benefit, cash balance and voluntary defined contribution plans. CalSTRS also provides disability and survivor benefits. CalSTRS serves California's 868,000 public school educators and their families from the state’s 1,600 school districts, county offices of education and community college districts.
