Cambridge International Director Selected for InvestMaryland Challenge Review Panel
Cambridge, MD (PRWEB) September 12, 2013 -- Dion Banks, Director of Governmental Affairs for Cambridge International, has been selected to serve on the InvestMaryland 2014 Challenge Review Panel for the second consecutive year. He is among a select group of individuals who will help decide the winners of the progressive competition, sponsored by the Maryland Department of Business & Economic Development (DBED).
The InvestMaryland Challenge is an influential national business competition, first launched by Governor Martin O’Malley in 2010, to attract next generation technologies and innovators to Maryland and connect them with a network of established mentors and state business resources. The program is designed to support a strong statewide entrepreneurial ecosystem and build a pipeline of qualified business ventures for the Maryland Venture Fund.
The InvestMaryland Initiative showcases the innovative ideas and entrepreneurial spirit of start-up companies and provides funding for emerging Maryland-based companies with 25 employees or less that fall within the categories of Information Technology Hardware and Software, Cyber-Security, Life Sciences, and General Industry.
Dion Banks has been chosen as a member of this committee, not only because of his professional work with proprietary green technologies through Cambridge EnTech, a division of Cambridge International, but also because of his personal investment in Maryland and the Eastern Shore region.

Banks is a graduate of the Leadership Maryland program, class of 2012, and a board member of the United Way of the Lower Eastern Shore and currently serves on Maryland’s Green Energy Task Force Council. His business and environmental experience as well as his commitment to the community and state make him an ideal ambassador for next generation Maryland enterprises.
