Camp Boggy Creek Appoints New Officers
Eustis, FL (PRWEB) February 04, 2015 -- Camp Boggy Creek is proud to announce the appointment of two new Board Officers. The Board of Directors recently elected Wendy Druce Durden as Board Chair and G. Thomas Ball as Vice Chair/Chair Elect.
Wendy Druce Durden, of Jacksonville has assumed the role of Board Chair for Camp Boggy Creek. She has been an active member of the Board since 1997 and was appointed as Vice Chair in 2011. Durden is very knowledgeable of the organization having served previously as the Chair of the Development Committee as well as a member of the Executive Committee, Finance Committee, and Strategic Planning Committee. A long time child advocate, Durden is also former President and a current member of the Women’s Board of Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
Ms. Durden shared “It is an honor for me to serve in this leadership role for Camp Boggy Creek. We have an incredible Board who is ready and willing to do whatever it takes to ensure children in Florida who are challenged by serious illnesses have the opportunity to experience the joy and empowerment of Camp Boggy Creek.”
G. Thomas Ball, Partner with the law firm Baker & Hostetler LLP, has been an active member of the Camp Boggy Creek Board of Directors since 2001. Over the past five years he has served as an Officer on the Board, fulfilling the role of Secretary/Counsel.
Mr. Ball, of Orlando practices business law, representing for-profit and not-for-profit trade associations, corporations, partnerships and limited liability companies in a variety of industries including real estate, resort development, and healthcare. Wendy Durden remarked, “I am delighted to have Tom serve as Vice Chair. His dedication to our mission, the children and families has been unwavering. In addition, his legal expertise as well as his vast knowledge of non-profits has been a tremendous resource to the Camp.”
In speaking of these recent appointments, June Clark, President and CEO shared, “A key part of the Camp’s strategic initiatives is to ensure strong governance through succession planning. The election of Wendy and Tom demonstrates the Board’s commitment to providing continuity and solid leadership for the Camp.”
