Can the Giants Win the NFC East?
(PRWEB) October 27, 2013 -- Do the New York Giants still have a chance? Can the now 1-6 team win the NFC East? It very well may be possible, but with a little help of a miracle.
On Monday night, the Giants won their first NFL regular season game of 2013. They played and beat the Minnesota Vikings at home by a score of 23-7. From the start of the game, as the Giants were playing well, it was obvious that they would be freed from their winless curse. Everything was going right for the team. For the first time this season, and twice that night, the Giants recovered two fumbles. Eli’s mistakable throws were not intercepted, but instead just fell to the ground. Skill or luck? Who knows, and who cares.
There were plenty of firsts for the Giants this season in their first game against the Vikings. While Giants’ opponents this year have not missed a field goal, the Vikings kicker did. The Giants also led the game at half time, something that has not occurred for the team this season. It was a game of good karma, and who knows what it will lead to. Could this be the start of the Giants dramatic comeback of 2013? Find out at Ticketmonster.com.
With the other three teams in the NFC East also not doing so great, there still may be a chance for New York. The Dallas Cowboys lead the division with four wins and three losses. In second is the Philadelphia Eagles with three wins and four losses. Third place is covered by the Washington Redskins, who also began 2013 with a shaky start. With the Redskins dramatic win over Chicago this past weekend, the team now has two wins and four losses.
With the NFC East standings all over the place, it is still anyone’s ball game. With nine games still left in the regular season, anything can happen. It will of course take some crazy actions for the Cowboys to lose the rest of their games and the Giants to win theirs, but that’s not to say it can’t happen. Last year, the division winners, the Washington Redskins, were 3.5 games behind the first place Giants in week 10. That is just one example of proof that the season isn’t over, until it’s over. Was this Monday night the fire under their bottoms that the Giants needed?
