Titusville, Florida (PRWEB) February 11, 2014 -- The homeless pets of Brevard County needed a champion to “protect and provide a voice” to them, so the SPCA of Brevard rose to the challenge when it was formed in 1979 and continues to be a voice to the voiceless in this community. Finding homes for more than 1,300 animals a year, the SPCA has become the largest no-kill animal rescue group in Brevard. The SPCA of Brevard Clinic also provides reduced-price vaccines to the public and has performed more than 50,000 low-cost and free spay/neuter surgeries since 1999.
In addition to being a true no-kill shelter, the SPCA has assumed a leadership role in working with Brevard County Animal Services to make the entire county a no-kill community. Realizing the dream of saving all healthy, treatable animals can and will be achieved with the help from the entire community.
The SPCA has recently purchased a new facility, which will allow it to significantly increase the number of homeless pets it can save, but it will require extensive renovation before the adoption facility can open there. The 4th Annual Dancing for the Paws: The Phantom of the Pawpera on Saturday, February 22, 2014 at La Cita Golf & Country Club in Titusville will be the SPCA’s biggest fundraising effort to begin those renovations.
This year’s masquerade-optional style ball will be an exquisite evening filled with fine dining, live entertainment, silent auctions and of course, dancing. Cast members from the highly praised “All Dogs Go to Broadway” will be performing selections from Andrew Lloyd Webber’s famed Phantom as well as other selected Broadway numbers during the evening and guests will be greeted by some of the SPCA’s adoptable “angels” as they arrive at La Cita.
