Canadian Solar Company Setting Up European HQ Near Royston, Creating Green Jobs
Toronto, Canada and Wendy, UK (PRWEB) April 22, 2014 -- Ontario Solar Provider Inc. (OSP), a Toronto based solar company, is expanding to Europe, and is currently assessing to set up its European headquarters in South Cambridgeshire. The company is investing more than 50m GBP in to the region and creating jobs in construction, development, engineering and manufacturing.
After completing its successful US expansion, OSP has decided to work on a four phase UK expansion plan: As a first step, the company is hiring professionals with experience in business development and sales to establish the national portfolio of projects. Secondly, the permitting and development division will require engineering and project management capacities. Thirdly, the installation of the solar systems will create jobs in the electrical and construction fields. Lastly, OSP’s affiliate, KB Racking, Inc., a mounting system company, is planning its European expansion alongside with OSP. KB Racking has been primarily US and Canada focused, but is using OSP’s platform to grow in the European market. This will create jobs in project management and manufacturing across England. The companies are actively soliciting resumes for positions at this point.
OSP’s management team is very optimistic about the UK’s green future and excited about the company’s role in South Cambridgeshire. Sebastian Seyfarth, OSP’s President states that, “we are planning to develop and build solar projects across the UK, but feel very strongly about being in South Cambridgeshire as our first project is being developed here. We want to give back to the greater community by creating jobs across all fields.”
The President of Solar Provider Group and CEO of OSP, Christian Wentzel, comments on the immediate next steps, “We have set up a preliminary office near Royston, and are conducting the first interviews. We hope to find suitable office space by end of this year with the help of UK Trade & Invest.
