Canadian Start up Launches Canada’s First Eco Friendly Humidifier - Operates without Electricity
Ottawa, Canada (PRWEB) October 30, 2013 -- Rumidifier Home Comforts Inc., an Ottawa based business, has announced the launch of an innovative, eco-friendly room humidifier that works without electricity – Rumidifier. With the Mayor of the City of Ottawa, Jim Watson, present, the company unveiled their first product at a special event held at terra20’s suburban Ottawa store. terra20 is the largest eco-friendly store in North America. Twenty lucky customers received a free Rumidifier at the launch.
The product is trademarked and patent pending in Canada and US. Since it leverages the dry air circulating from the furnace to moisten the air in the room, there is virtually no operating cost associated with using the Rumidifier. All other humidifiers on the market use electricity to operate. The product has won awards including the 2012 Bootstrap Award for “Best Green Product” from the Ottawa Entrepreneur Network and Exploriem.
Rumidifier Home Comforts Inc. partnered with an Ottawa product design firm, Design 1st, and manufacturing company, LD Tool and Die, also of Ottawa, to engineer and manufacture the product in Canada.
Rumidifier is the brainchild of a recent immigrant to Canada, Jeri Rodrigs, a serial inventor and entrepreneur who founded Rumidifier Inc. after he left Nortel Networks in 2010. “The urge to create something unique, and green that would be beneficial, innovative and save money for customers was the driving force behind this breakthrough invention,” Rodrigs said. “We are proud to bring this award winning humidifier technology to market after three years of research and development. The product fills an important need and helps customers to save money which is important in these difficult times,” he added.
