Cancer Care Group Selects Diagnotes® Mobile Clinical Communication System To Streamline Documentation, Billing Processes
Indianapolis, Ind. (PRWEB) August 13, 2015 -- Diagnotes Inc. and Central Indiana’s Cancer Care Group medical practice today announced an agreement that streamlines the radiation oncology practice’s documentation and billing processes using the Diagnotes mobile and web-based clinical communication system.
“We initially looked at Diagnotes for its secure texting capabilities,” said Portia Frecker, director of operations of Cancer Care Group. “But what we discovered was a mobile communication system that was infinitely customizable and could solve one of our biggest challenges: remote documentation and charge capture.”
Cancer Care Group’s physicians travel to many different locations throughout Central Indiana, treat patients and document encounters for the benefit of the hospital or clinic. Documenting the encounters for physician billing, though, was a little more complicated. Coders visited the facilities the next day, copied the documentation tickets the physicians had made earlier, and mailed or overnighted the copies to the group’s office.
“It was inconvenient, time consuming and costly,” said Frecker. “But the Diagnotes solution was simple, intuitive and, best of all, HIPAA-compliant.”
Using the Diagnotes system, coders still visit the facilities following the physician’s visit. But now they snap a photo of the original documentation tickets with their secured smartphones or tablets, and send the photos as attachments to encrypted, secure text messages. The practice’s billing office now receives approximately 650 images from the coders each week – efficiently, securely and without the risk that tickets might be lost or misplaced.
“We were looking for a secure texting solution, and we got it with Diagnotes. But we got much more, too. And we’re pleased that there are additional components that will accommodate our needs as we grow,” said Frecker. “We’ve been pleased at the way Diagnotes works with us as a true partner to make sure we’re getting exactly what we need from the system.”
“The Diagnotes system brings cutting-edge mobile clinical communications technology to any medical care setting,” said Dave Wortman, chairman and CEO of Diagnotes, Inc. “Working with Cancer Care Group presented us with an opportunity to show a practice how the functionality of the Diagnotes system could overcome a challenge they weren’t even thinking about when we first met. We are proud and delighted to be Cancer Care Group’s preferred partner for enhanced mobile communications.”
