Candlelight Ranch Hosts Dress by Candlelight Event to Support Outdoor Programming for Special Needs and At-Risk Youth
Austin, Texas (PRWEB) October 06, 2015 -- Candlelight Ranch, a non-profit that provides unique outdoor experiences for special needs and at-risk youth to learn, play and embrace the wonders of nature, will host their seventh annual style-show fundraiser, Dress by Candlelight, presented by HEB and Wells Fargo Advisors, LLC on November 4, 2015, at Fair Market on East Fifth Street.
Dress by Candlelight is the Ranch’s largest fundraiser and ticket sales and donations support the program facility and nature-based programs offered to 30 other Central Texas community groups, nonprofits and schools.
This year, Dress by Candlelight is trading the traditional runway show for an interactive fashion experience. Guests will see and touch the clothes while visiting with the models positioned in four different museum-style vignettes showcasing amazing programs at the Ranch.
• Land/Food Forest: Sustainability and care of the earth represent one of the Ranch’s core values. From key-hole vegetable gardens to a rain water collection system, this vignette demonstrates opportunities to make your own home and land sustainable.
• Monarch: Monarch butterflies represent nature’s beauty. They are natural jewels. This vignette will represent beauty in various forms including delicate items and experiences that excite the senses.
• Sky is the Limit: This vignette represents both the literal sky above the Ranch, as well as the metaphorical. It is inspired by the Ranch’s wide-open spaces, vast skies, and starry nights – and the limitless potential of the children we serve. We allow our children to reach for the stars, to develop their full potential, and to dream big.
• Reese’s Treehouse: This magical tree house is one of the most unique experiences at the Ranch and one of the largest in the country, providing 500 square-feet of wheelchair-accessible ramps and shelters where children play, relax and experience nature in creative, fun ways.
Last year, more than 400 guests attended Dress by Candlelight and thanks to generous donations, Candlelight Ranch was able to fulfill their commitment to provide local youth with programs that promote expression and empowerment as they tackle things they have never done before - flying on a zip line, wheeling down accessible paths to the Treehouse, splashing in ChillVille, or simply connecting with others facing similar challenges.
This year, Dress by Candlelight will feature delicious fare provided by Quality Seafood, Jack Allen’s Kitchen, Green House Local Craft Food, Flying Pig Provision Company, Paella Tapas and More, The Scarlet Rabbit, and Taco Flats. Specialty cocktails will be provided by Deep Eddy Vodka, and live entertainment will be provided by Beat Bodega.
