Cannabis Industry Pioneer is Poised to Help Stabilize Production, Distribution and Pricing Issues Across Colorado

As the Colorado Pot Guide web site recently noted, prices for legal cannabis have dropped significantly this year, due to the explosion of “grow only” operations across the state. That oversupply is good for consumers, but is forcing companies to lower their prices in order to remain competitive.
At the same time, however, the financial news site 24/7 Wall Street reports spot prices for a pound of legal cannabis rose five percent nationally week-over-week, for the week ending June 12; due to factors such as changing regulations and the ongoing effects of the California drought.
Ryan Fox, founder and CEO of Kindman, one of Colorado’s oldest and largest distributors of legal recreational marijuana, notes that as the legal sale of recreational cannabis in his state passes the 18-month milestone, many cannabis businesses are still struggling to find a successful, long-term business model.
Pricing at dispensaries across Colorado, he says, can vary widely – sometimes by as much as 100 percent – due to a lack of forethought about supply chain logistics and other essential business factors.
In contrast, Fox notes proudly, prices for his Kindman brand of pre-packed marijuana have remained stable these past 18 months.

But he also takes inspiration from mainstream business leaders such as Clarence Birdseye, the inventor and entrepreneur who helped to found America’s multi-billion-dollar frozen food industry.
