Cannabis Moves into the Culinary Industry Mainstream
DENVER, Colorado (PRWEB) April 19, 2017 -- On Thursday, April 20, StarChefs is hosting a private, invite-only event: the first gathering of the Green Toque Supper Club. At the supper, high-profile chefs will explore ways cannabis may be incorporated into a fine dining experience.
“It’s impossible to ignore cannabis’ potential for the restaurant industry,” said Antoinette Bruno, StarChefs CEO/EIC. “StarChefs is thrilled to bring together chefs, cannabis experts, and restaurant suppliers—like Meiko Warewashers, who actually inspired this dinner—so we can all learn from each other and help bring cannabis into the mainstream.”
The inaugural chefs of the Green Toque Supper are Hosea Rosenberg (Blackbelly Market), Alex Seidel (Fruition & Mercantile), Kelly Whitaker (Basta), and Deuki Hong (Sunday Bird), as well as Artisan Chocolate Makers Aldo Ramirez Carrasco, Spencer Bowie, and Sienna Trapp-Bowie (Fortuna Chocolate). “It’s important to bring together like-minded chefs to explore the culinary applications of cannabis. Afterall, it was originally designed to be ingested, not smoked,” says Whitaker.
Cannabis will be incorporated into dishes via infused honey and olive oil, among other ingredients. And pioneering Pot Somm Philip Wolf will pair a variety of strains to smoke with weed-less dishes.

The restaurant industry magazine will be in town for StarChefs Colorado Rising Stars Awards + Tasting Gala, happening the following Tuesday, April 25. StarChefs has hosted 56 Rising Stars Awards across the country since 2002, but this will be their first-ever cannabis dinner.
